Terms of Service
Effective October 27, 2026 · North Cipher Valley Inc.
These terms explain how you can use Boothrun, what organizers are responsible for, and the limits of our responsibility.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Boothrun at boothrun.com, operated by North Cipher Valley Inc. ("we", "us"). By using Boothrun, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Boothrun for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
2. What Boothrun does
Boothrun turns event tickets into a booth passport: booth staff scan attendees’ tickets, attendees see their progress, and organizers can offer swag, raffle entries, or both to people who visit enough booths.
Boothrun is currently offered free of charge and may change, add or remove features. We will give notice on boothrun.com before introducing fees.
3. Staff accounts
Organizers, booth staff and the swag desk sign in with Google or an email link. Access comes only from an organizer adding you to their event. Keep your account secure and tell us if you think someone else used it. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
4. If you organize an event
- You confirm you have the right to give Boothrun access to your event’s attendee information and to use it for your booth passport, and that your event’s privacy notice tells attendees about it.
- You can give Boothrun access to your attendee list on your ticketing platform (for example, by adding a Boothrun account to your event team) and remove that access at any time.
- You decide who works at each booth and at the swag desk, and you are responsible for their use of Boothrun at your event.
- You are responsible for your rewards: providing the swag and prizes, and making sure any raffle or prize draw follows the laws that apply to it (some draws need a licence or must be free to enter). Boothrun only provides a random, recorded draw tool.
- You are responsible for your event and for following your ticketing platform’s terms.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- try to access events, booths or information you haven’t been given access to;
- scan tickets or claim rewards on someone else’s behalf to game a passport or a raffle;
- scrape, overload, probe or disrupt Boothrun, or get around its security or limits;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer Boothrun, or use it to build a competing product;
- use Boothrun to break the law or anyone’s rights.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts people or the service at risk.
6. Ownership
Boothrun’s software, design and brand belong to us and to Boothrun’s contributors. We give you a limited, revocable right to use Boothrun as these terms allow. Event information belongs to the organizer and the attendees; we use it only to run Boothrun as described in our Privacy Policy.
Boothrun is an independent product. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Google Developer Groups, Bevy, Eventbrite or Luma. Their names are used only to describe compatibility.
7. Other services
Boothrun works with services such as Google sign-in and ticketing platforms. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
8. No warranty
Boothrun is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it reliable, including during events with poor Wi-Fi, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim about Boothrun is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Boothrun in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
If you organize an event, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims arising from your event, your rewards or raffles, or your breach of these terms.
10. Ending use
You can stop using Boothrun at any time. Organizers can remove Boothrun’s access to their ticketing platform at any time. We may stop offering Boothrun or close accounts with reasonable notice where possible. Sections that by their nature should continue (ownership, no warranty, limitation of liability, governing law) continue after use ends.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date and, for significant changes, give notice on boothrun.com before they take effect. Continuing to use Boothrun after that means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
